A busy week

I haven't updated for a week and what a busy week it has been!

Thursday we went to Norwich to catch up with one of my old school friends and meet her month old daughter.  It was a lovely day and Bean was exhausted after fighting sleep all day.

Friday we spent a day at home and 3 of Bean's cousins came round to play.  Her cousin's are 12, 10 and 9 but seemed to really enjoy the sensory pit.  There was shredded paper scattered all over the living room by the end of their visit!

Bean's 10 year old cousin then stayed a bit longer for some painting.

The painting was mess galore by the end!

On Saturday Grandma and Grandad picked us up and we went to Elveden where Grandad was dancing with the Green Dragon border morris side.  Bean had a wonderful time practicing walking on different surfaces and exploring, although wasn't sure about grandad's green face!

After Grandad had finished dancing we went back to Grandma and Grandad's.  Grandma has lots of toys to play with.

We spent the night at Grandma and Grandad's house so Bean had bedtime stories with Grandma.

On Easter Sunday Mummy helped Grandma at her first craft fayre in Stowmarket.

After the craft fayre it was time to play.

After exploring Grandma's cupboard we had a little accident with some little silver cake decorating balls!

We were staying at Grandma and Grandad's so after putting Bean to bed, Daddy and I went to a local bowling alley.

Today we returned home, Bean didn't want to leave!

Easter painting

This afternoon Bean enjoyed a spot of painting.  I cut out some egg shapes and let Bean loose with the paints.  Her brush control is improving every time we paint and she has learnt to dip her paint brush into the pots.  I only cut out three egg shapes which she had soon painted so will definately be cutting more out to repeat the activity later in the week.

After we had cleaned away the paints I found Bean trying to put her shoes and socks on.

At the moment we have no plans for new activities, we have a day out tomorrow, Thursday and Saturday so we will probably be playing with the sensory pit and paints again.

Easter sensory and fun in the sun

This morning I revealed Bean's easter sensory pit to her.  Her "pit" is a sandpit which as yet hasn't had any sand in it!  The easter sensory pit contains shredded orange and yellow tissue paper, plastic eggs, little fluffy chicks and some coloured feathers.

Bean explored the contents and then emptied all the shredded paper out until she discovered the plastic eggs, which she soon learn how to opened the eggs and found a little fluffy chick hidden inside.

After lunch Bean wanted to go into the garden so I found some more plastic eggs (ones I had forgotten we had from a few years ago) and scattered them around the garden.  Bean was thrilled to see the eggs and crawled to them and started to open them, when she found nothing inside or she could open it quickly enough, it was thrown to one side.  Our cat Lottie then decided to join in the fun, much to Bean's amusement, however she wasn't happy when Lottie wouldn't let her play!

We have a busy week ahead but the easter sensory pit will be out again and hopefully we will be able to fit in some other easter related activities.
